Vauxhall Opel - Feature Activations
Amongst the many services I cater for, I can activate features on many Vauxhall Opel Cars.
The charge for this service is £20, for those who live outside of a 10 mile radius of Holyhead, will be subject to travelling charge, unless the vehicle is bought to me.
Things you will need :
Most important, you will need your security code, this can be found on your car pass, if you don't have one for whatever reason, you can usually get it from your local Vauxhall dealer, however they will charge and this will vary. I can read the Security Code from some models, please enquire.
Other things you will need to check is that you have fitted any parts that are required, I can test that these have been fitted and whether they are working.
I can also carry out any modifications to get certain features to work, such as additional wiring etc, this will be at extra cost.
I do not limit the number of activations at any one session and a further charge will only be made if either additional work needs to be carried out, or further activations are not carried out at the same time.

UK MOT Changes 2012
Since the start of the year, the Department of Transport has added several mandatory test items to comply with a European testing directive. Faults on these new test items will only be advisory during the first 3 months, after which they will be considered MOT failures.
Here is a summary of the checks to important diagnostic related items that have been introduced.
ABS extensions. Checks on the Anti-lock Braking System will now include a check of the Electronic Stability Control (ESC/ESP), this includes checking for a functioning ESC/ESP warning light, visual inspection of damaged or inappropriately repaired components and a working ESC/ESP switch.
Electronic Park Brake. Checks on the correct operation of the EPB warning light, controls must be present and a visual check for inappropriately repaired components.
Other warning lights. The test will also include checks for the correct operation of the following systems where fitted:
Airbag warning light
Seat belt pre-tensioner warning light
Electronic power steering warning light
Tyre pressure monitoring system warning light
Headlight main beam warning light
Brake fluid level warning light
If any of the warning lights mentioned above do not come on initially when the ignition is switched on, then extinguish to indicate a fault free system, that will mean a MOT failure for the vehicle being tested.

Renault Radio Codes
We offer Radio Decodes for Renault radio models from 2000 onwards, including Tuner list sets.
The models we can decode are the later type of radios, the last 4 digits of the serial are 1 letter followed by 3 numbers, some examples can be found below, if you have any doubts please contact us

We can in some cases, provide codes to older Philips Radios including those fitted to Renault, Vauxhall etc, but please contact us first.
Price for this service is £4.99 per code, codes are usually sent within 2 hours, but can in some cases, can take longer, if you haven't received your code within 24 hours, please contact us

Steps for obtaining your code :
1. Remove Radio
2. Write down serial number from the set, the code will be either on a label on the top of the set or on the side, or both, code examples are given below.
3. Enter the serial into the box below, the important part is the last 4 digits, as marked in the above examples, the last digits will always consist of 1 letter, followed by 3 numbers..
4. Enter your email address, this is the address your code will be sent to, so make sure it is correct, and check your spam settings/folders.
Rover Diagnostics and EKA code retrieval
Diagnostic plug in for most Rover models and most systems including Engine Management, ABS, Airbag etc, simple plug in code retrieval £25.
In all cases a reset of codes will be attempted after retrieving any codes held, please not though that while a reset may be successful, the fault may return, in which case, further investigation will be needed at extra cost.
I can also program Remote Fobs for most Rover models and I can retrieve EKA codes for most.
Remote Fob programming : £40 including supply of fob
Remote Fob programming : £30 customer supplied fob
EKA code retrieval : £30
In all cases of fob programming and EKA code retrieval, proof of ownership of the vehicle must be provided, no exceptions.

Electric Window Repair
Most electric window systems repaired from £45.
Most window failures are down to mechanical and/or component failure, most can be repaired by replacing all or part of the mechanism, most can be repaired from £45 excluding in some cases Motor replacement.
